Certificate Program Admission Requirements
Certificate program applicants may be admitted to pursue up to six of the concentration elective courses required by any one of GSM's Certificate programs without being admitted to the MBA or MM program. These students are categorized as Certificate Admission students.*

Certificate Admission:

To be granted Certificate Admission status a student must have a U.S. bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or the foreign equivalent thereof. In addition, to be admitted to this status applicants must have at least 3 years of relevant managerial, professional or military experience.

Applicants whose native language is not English, including permanent residents living in the U.S., must also submit a score of at least 550 (213 computer-based), with a minimum of 52 (18 computer-based) in each section on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

No specific undergraduate major or concentration is required to pursue any GSM program. Applications for admission are considered by the Admissions Committee according to the stated criteria and without regard to age, sex, disability, race, color, religion, or national origin.

Students in Certificate Admission status are not permitted to take MBA core courses without written permission from the dean. Certificate Admission students must continuously maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better to remain in the program.

To be admitted to the MBA program after completing a Certificate program a student must meet the Full Admission requirements for the MBA (i.e. two of the four Capability Measures listed under Full Admission). These students may use the five courses taken in their Certificate program to meet Capability Measure C in their effort to fulfill two required Capability Measures. Students applying for MM admission must meet all of the Master of Management admission requirements as stated under MM Admissions.

Students who have been accepted to the MBA or MM program may also be granted a certificate for any concentration area in which they complete the Certificate course requirements.

* The GSM Admissions Committee recommends, and the GSM Dean determines, the school's admission policies. Interpretations and exceptions to these policies can only be made by the dean, after a review is conducted and recommendations are submitted by the Admissions Committee.
