University of Dallas Scholarship Program

Summary
The University of Dallas Graduate School of Management (UD) has had the opportunity to educate many SBC employees over the years. Recently, the economy has caused some companies, including SBC, to reduce tuition benefits. As a result, many students are caught between the desire to finish and the reality of the cost. UD is offering a special
scholarship program to qualified SBC employees
to encourage them to complete their MBA.

Scholarship Program Qualification

SBC employees who have started the UD program and

  • completed at least 15 credit hours
  • Taken at least one class in the year 2000 or more recently
  • Are in good academic and financial standing with UD
SBC employees who have less than 15 hours of course credit who are in good standing in the UD MBA program will become eligible for the scholarship program once they have completed 15 hours.

Awards
The scholarship is in the amount of 30% of the current UD GSM tuition. The tuition for this school year for a 3 credit hour course is $1,440. The scholarship will reduce the tuition to $1008 per course. There may be general tuition increases from time to time. The scholarship will be calculated based on the prevailing tuition rate.

Conditions
SBC students on this scholarship must take at least two classes per school year (Fall, Spring and Summer). They must start the scholarship (e.g. have their scholarship application accepted and take their first class(es) in either Fall 2003 or Spring 2004.) They must remain in good standing both academically and financially. They must continue to be employed by SBC.

Form of scholarship
The scholarship is in the form of a reduced tuition. It cannot be taken in cash.

Applications for the scholarship
Students must apply for the scholarship each semester using a form that is available in the menu below.

Duration of scholarship
For students who apply and accept the scholarship, the benefit will continue for three school years (Fall 2003 through Summer 2006). The University of Dallas may or may not continue this scholarship program beyond that time at its discretion.

Procedures
